JB Straubel, gigafactory visionary and recycling pioneer, receives Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award

To continue our recognition of figures that have shifted our industry on its axis over the years, Benchmark proudly presented its third Lifetime Achievement Award at Benchmark Week 2024.
It was an honour to recognise JB Straubel with this year’s Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award for his visionary leadership in rapidly advancing battery cell design, cell selection, supply chain management, battery recycling, and most crucially – The Gigafactory.
The gigafactory visionary and battery recycling pioneer received the 2024 Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award from Benchmark CEO Simon Moores before engaging in a Keynote Fireside with Moores and Benchmark COO Andrew Miller.
In receiving this award, Straubel follows in the footsteps of Benchmark’s inaugural recipient, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Stanley Whittingham.
