What is covered by the EV & Battery Service

The EV & Battery Forecast is based on robust and informed methodologies that look at the interactions between different functions in the supply chain. We track the following variables that impact the forecast:

The EV Production Forecast provides a model-by-model forecast, drawing upon our EV and Battery Database with production location assigned to each model by country in our EV Production matrix, as well as our OEM sales forecast and regional sales forecast. The production outlook integrates future model lines, current EV manufacturing facilities, utilisation rates, future plant construction, and existing plant conversions to establish locations in which automakers will be manufacturing vehicles.

The EV & Battery database tracks monthly EV sales on a model-by-model basis considering variants in battery pack size, cell supplier and production location. The database is built up through both primary and desk research.

  • For each vehicle model we collect data relating to battery pack size, battery chemistry, cell format and cell supplier in addition to a number of other vehicle metrics.
